In particular, my areas of practice include:
• guardianship
• parenting and the care of children
• contact and access with children
• relocation and mobility
• jurisdiction
• complex property division
• pension division
• preservation of family property
• entitlement to an interest in assets under equitable principles and the law of trusts
• divorce
• common-law separation
• spousal support
• child support and payment of children’s special expenses
• variation and enforcement of existing court orders
• setting aside or enforcement of agreements
• protection of a party or a child
• removal and protection of a child
• domestic contracts and agreements
My practice focuses exclusively on family law with a specialization in litigation. I have experience negotiating out of court matrimonial settlements and preparing domestic contracts and agreements.
While I use every effort to encourage and achieve negotiated settlement as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible, I appreciate that matrimonial disputes are often fraught with acrimony, and do not lend themselves to out of court resolution. In adversarial proceedings, I employ creative, tailor-made legal strategies to effectively advocate on behalf of my clients in an endeavour to obtain every legal remedy available by law.
