Brent is an associate in the Calgary office with a developing practice focused on tax law and tax planning. He assists clients and works closely with the firm’s tax lawyers on a wide range of matters involving tax-efficient planning and Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) issues.

Brent supports partners and senior lawyers in advising high-net-worth individuals and business owners on estate planning, trust structures, and corporate tax matters, and assists with CRA audits and reassessments, GST/HST issues, scientific research and experimental development (SR&ED) claims, and matters involving business and personal income tax. He is known for his careful, detail-oriented approach and his commitment to delivering clear and practical results to clients.

Raised in a small town in Southern Alberta, Brent brings a strong sense of community to his work. His Filipino background and experience with underserved communities have influenced his interest in public service and legal education. While attending law school, Brent contributed to the Employers’ Guide to MS through Pro Bono Students of Canada, assisting employers in understanding their legal rights and obligations when supporting employees with multiple sclerosis. He also serves as a volunteer member of the board of governors for a youth soccer organization in his hometown.
