Having an entrepreneurial background, Ashvin also takes a keen interest in emerging and high growth companies and supports founders, investors and acquirers through all stages of the life cycle of a startup enterprise. Drawing on his background in board and community work, he further advises emerging businesses on corporate governance issues.
Ashvin attended law school at the University of Toronto, where he won the award for the highest place in tax and estate planning. An eager speaker and writer on tax matters, Ashvin is one of the top ten contributors to Canadian Tax Focus, a publication of the Canadian Tax Foundation. Ashvin’s previous practice experience includes an international law firm, a prominent Canadian tax boutique firm and a leading national law firm in the taxation space.
Ashvin serves on the executive of the Taxation Law section of the British Columbia branch of the Canadian Bar Association.
